Einfach gesagt:
Happy Island heisst ‚Insel des Glücks’.
Es ist ein Tanzstück mit behinderten Menschen aus Portugal.
Die Künstlerin La Ribot hat das Stück mit den Tänzern und
Tänzerinnen einstudiert.
Es geht um Träume und Traum-Orte.
Man sieht auch Filmaufnahmen.

In Happy Island kommen Fiktion und Realität einem gleichzeitig gelebten und geträumten Traum nahe. Die Tänzerinnen und Tänzer der inklusiven Companie Dançando com a Diferença haben sich unter der Leitung von La Ribot auf eine Reise entlang ihrer Wünsche und Visionen begeben. Sie erforschen die beunruhigende Intensität des Körpers, der zerfällt und wiederhergestellt wird und schaffen subjektiv und imaginär Traum-Orte auf Zeit. Untermalt von Raquel Freires‘ beeindruckenden Filmaufnahmen aus Madeira, finden sie extravagante wie intime Bilder, die in bestechender Sichtbarkeit und betörender Sinnlichkeit von Gemeinschaft und dem Anspruch auf Freiheit erzählen.

Eine gemeinsame Veranstaltung von BewegGrund und IntegrART, ein Netzwerkprojekt des Migros-Kulturprozent und den Partnerfestivals Wildwuchs Basel, Out of the box Genf und Orme Lugano.
